Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady to Cap a December Full of Holiday Events and Promotions with the Biggest and Best New Year’s Bash in Schenectady History

Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady’s December promotions and events will let guests celebrate the holiday season all month long, culminating in a two-day New Year’s Eve celebration featuring Comedian Frank Caliendo, The Commodores and a countdown to 2018 with multiple parties that will be the biggest and best bash in the Capital Region all under one roof.

The party starts in the Event Center on December 30, when Rivers hosts world-renowned impressionist and Fox NFL Sunday and MADtv alum Frank Caliendo. The good times keep rolling when the Capital Region’s best New Year’s Eve entertainment comes to Schenectady with music from legendary performers The Commodores.

On Saturday Night, December 30, Frank Caliendo will take the stage at 8 p.m.; doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $35 – $60, and hotel packages for the show and stay at The Landing Hotel are available. The Commodores will bring their world-famous discography, including classics such as “Brick House” “Easy” and “Three Times a Lady” to the Rivers Casino & Resort Event Center at 11 p.m. on December 31. Tickets are $120, $100 or $60. Hotel packages for The Commodores show and stay at The Landing Hotel start at $649.

Tickets are on sale at Proctors Theatre’s box office or online at www.riverscasinoandresort.com including special New Year’s Hotel packages that feature tickets to the shows and a room at The Landing Hotel.

Guests are advised to book their dining experience at Rivers Casino early, as seating at Dukes Chophouse will be a reservations-only affair from 5 p.m. to midnight (last seating at 10 p.m.). Van Slyck’s will be rocking into the new year with an all-star line up featuring Evolution X from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. and Funk Evolution from 10 a.m. – 2 a.m. DJ Patrice will spin tunes throughout the night, as well.

Guests can also enjoy casual fare at Rivers’ Marketplace off the casino floor – Mian, Flipt, Johnny’s and Villa Italia will all offer 2018 celebration menus. Guests on the casino floor will enjoy $2 champagne stations, beads and New Year’s Eve party favors to ring in the New Year in style.

Package experiences with accommodations at The Landing Hotel are available with tickets for the weekend’s shows. Package A for a December 30 stay starts at $329 and includes 2 tickets to see Frank Caliendo. Package B for a December 31 stay starts at $649 and includes 2 tickets to see The Commodores. There is no better way to herald in the New Year, and enjoy all that Rivers has to offer, than by staying at The Landing Hotel, steps from the Rivers Event Center and gaming floor.

The excitement of New Year’s Eve will be followed by a New Year’s Day brunch at Dukes Chophouse, with a complimentary Mimosa or Bloody Mary.

Gaming Promotions and Giveaways

12 Days of Christmas – Twelve lucky winners will walk away with a major prize with the 12 Days of Christmas giveaway this month. Starting December 1, Rush Rewards members can enter to win an assortment of prizes that will be given away December 12 – 23 at 8:30 p.m. Prizes range from big screen TVs, vacation packages, $5,000 in cash and even free slot play for a year.

Visitors of the Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady Facebook page can also enter for a chance to win a one-night stay at The Landing Hotel during the 12 Nights of Christmas giveaway, by using the hashtag “#12NightsofXmas” in their comment. Each day from December 12 through December 23, one lucky winner will be randomly chosen at 5 p.m. for the prize of that day. Prize packages will include a variety of room types and amenities.

Go for Gold Drawing – Guests who earned points during the $25,000 Go for Gold Drawings during the month of November can activate their entries on December 2, when every hour from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. more than 20 winners will be selected to win free slot play, match play, cash or pure gold. One lucky winner will walk away with 10 oz. of gold or $10,000 in cash.

$100,000 Super Series Week – Players will have a chance to win free slot play and up to $5,000 in cash from December 5 through December 9, and December 26 through December 30. From 1 p.m. – 9 p.m., bonus games will randomly pop up on slot machine screens and players who have their Rush Rewards card inserted will have a chance to win an instant prize by matching winning numbers.

Jackpot Winner Drawings –Rush Rewards members who hit a jackpot while playing slots or video poker from November 25 through December 28 will receive an entry ticket to be placed in a drawing drum. On December 30, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., four winners will be randomly chosen to win $250 in free slot play. If present, their prize will double. At 8 p.m., two lucky winners will receive their highest jackpot matched, up to $5,000 cash.

Replenish Your Pockets – From December 26 through December 28, one person playing with their Rush Rewards card will be randomly chosen every hour from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. to participate in the Cash Cube to grab as many bills as they can in 30 seconds to win up to $3,000 cash.

Shop ‘Til You Drop Hot Seats – On December 1 and December 9 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., three winners will be randomly chosen every hour for a prize of a $100 Macy’s, Hewitt’s, Price Chopper, TJMAXX or Sunoco gift card.

Food and Beverage

Christmas Day at Dukes Chophouse – Dukes Chophouse is celebrating Christmas Day with a special, one-time prix fixe menu served from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on December 25. This four-course meal starts with a Potato Leek soup, which is followed by the choice of a Holiday Salad, Shrimp Gorgonzola Crostini or a King Crab Cocktail. For the entrée, guests will have a choice of Veal and Lobster, Cinnamon Seared Duck Breast, Gremolata Sea Bass or Char-Grilled Cauliflower Steak. A choice of Pistachio Cheesecake or Flourless Chocolate Cake will be offered for dessert. This special meal is $75 per person, and by reservation only through Open Table or the Rivers Call Center.

Senior Days – Young at Heart – On Mondays, December 4, 11 & 18, from 6 a.m. to midnight , Rush Rewards members over the age of 55 will receive free valet parking and a two times points multiplier at the promotional kiosks. Guests can also enjoy an all-you-can-eat soup and salad lunch special for $9.99 at Duke’s from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and entertainment at Van Slyck’s from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Events & Entertainment

Everson Walls – What better company to watch the New York Giants take on the Dallas Cowboys than the man who has played for both teams? The public is invited to rub elbows with sports great Everson Walls on December 10 in Van Slyck’s. The meet and greet starts at 1 p.m.

Comedian/Hypnotist Terry Parrett – The Rivers Casino Event Center will host renowned Comedian and Hypnotist Terry Parrett for a one-night-only show on December 14. Terry Parrett, who has performed all over the country, will launch his show at 6 p.m.; doors are at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $10, and available at Proctors Theatre’s box office or online at www.tickets.proctors.org.

Sunday and Monday Night Football – Guests can enjoy football on Sundays and Mondays in December at Van Slyck’s. Football specials will begin one hour before kick-off and will include $1 hot dogs, $2 domestic pints and $3 select imports. Football fans can enjoy the December 10 NY Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys game with former defensive back, Everson Walls.

There is no cost to join Rush Rewards, and members earn points for their slot play and table game play by inserting their card into the slot machine or presenting it to table games dealers before starting the game. The more points earned, the more reward benefits members will receive.
