Capital Region BOCES Launches New Adult Barbering Class on Albany Campus

Learn a profession that is literally all the buzz!

Capital Region BOCES is launching next month a new adult barbering class on its Albany campus.

Barbers are in high demand with a double-digit projection in job growth during the next five years and the ability to work independently and set your own hours draws many into this profession.

The new 513-hour Adult Barbering professional training program provides comprehensive instruction in the science of barbering by a licensed master barber in state-of-the-art cosmetology labs.

During the class, students are prepared to take the licensing exam and enter the workforce upon graduation.

Students will learn:
• Various hair cutting techniques
• Shampooing
• Shaving and styling facial hair
• Facial massages

Classes begin Nov. 12 and will meet Mondays through Wednesdays at the Albany Career and Technical School campus, 1015 Watervliet-Shaker Road. Tuition is $5,000 (does not include supplies, books or licensing exam).

For more information or to register call 518 862-4791.
