Three Former Great Danes Make MLL 20th Anniversary Rosters

Lyle Thompson

Three alumni from the University at Albany men’s lacrosse program, Lyle Thompson, Adam Osika, and Justin Reh, have earned spots on Major League Lacrosse rosters for the league’s 20th anniversary season.  Thompson will play attack for the Chesapeake Bayhawks, Osika will play midfield for the Connecticut Hammerheads, and Reh will play midfield for the New York Lizards.

Coach Iati Voted As One Of The America East’s Top Assistants

University at Albany men’s basketball assistant coach Jon Iati was voted as the second-best assistant coach in the America East, as announced by Stadium last week.

Einarsdottir, Walker Named All-American Scholars

Two members of the University at Albany women’s golf team, Helga Einarsdottir and Madison Walker, earned All-American Scholar honors from the Women’s Golf Coaches Association, announced Monday.

Barkevich Named 2020 America East Woman of the Year

University at Albany senior Kelly Barkevich has been named America East Woman of the Year for the 2019-20 season, the conference announced Tuesday.  Barkevich is UAlbany’s second-straight Woman of the Year, and fourth in history.  She was named alongside America East Man of the Year Christian Lutete from UMass Lowell.

Patterson Named Scholar All-American

Jakob Patterson has been named a Scholar All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.  A total of 100 Division I student-athletes earned the honor, including a total of five from the America East.

Track & Field/Cross Country Announces 2020 Recruits

Track & Field Recruiting

The University at Albany track & field and cross country program has announced an incoming recruiting class of 27 student-athletes for the upcoming 2020-21 season.  Eighteen women and nine men will join the top squad in the America East, including two local recruits, four transfer students, and five international students.

Barkevich Named America East Woman of the Year Finalist

University at Albany senior Kelly Barkevich has been named one of three finalists for the America East Woman of the Year Award, the conference announced Wednesday.  The America East also released the full list of nominees for the award and its men’s counterpart.

Three Great Danes, Jordyn Marr, Jakob Patterson, and Cara Sherman, have been named America East Spring Scholar-Athletes, the conference announced Thursday.  UAlbany was the only institution with multiple Scholar-Athlete winners.
